Applications are invited from Eligible Men & Women for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) -01/2012 for the Courses commencing January 2013 & July 2013 (for UES -2013)

01. Flying Branch:
No. 11 SSC for Men
No. 40 SSC for Women
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology of 4 years with 60% Marks. Candidates must be passed 12th Examination with Maths and Physics
Age Limit: Between 19 and 23 years as on 01/01/2013. Those candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA will be relaxed in age upto 25 years
Physical Standard: (Male & Female) – Height – 162.5, with correlated weight Vision – 6/6 and 6/9
02. Technical Branch
No. 82 AEC (Permanent Commission) and No. 54 SSC for Men
No. 54 SSC for Women
Qualifications: Degree Qualifications of 4 years from a recognized University for AE (L) and AE (M). Final year of 4 years Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor Technology from a recognized University for AE (L) and (M) UES-2013 Entry
Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01/07/2013
Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight
03. Ground Duty Branches
No. 133 GDOC (Permanent Commission) and No. 26 SSC for Men
No. 42 SSC for Women
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks or PG Degree or equivalent diploma in any subject area with 50% Marks
Age: Between 20 to 23, 20 to 25, 20 to 26 and 20 to 27 years as on 01/01/2013 as per Qualifications
Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight
Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates who apply with proper details will be called for AFCAT which will be conducted on 26/02/2012. Candidates who qualify in this test will be called for further test which will be done in three stages, Stage-I: Intelligence Test, Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview, Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
How to Apply:
The eligible and qualified candidates may send their application in prescribed format and filled the application in English, application can be typed or written as per the format given in the advertisement in A4 size paper, with two latest colour passport size photographs, one pasted on the application form and another one is attached the application form, along with two self addressed envelops, to the respective address given in the advertisement.
AFCAT Scheme of Syllabus:
1. The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
2. Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics:-
(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
