CIPET JEE 2012 stands for Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology and is certainly one the leading institutes in this field and the point here to be noted is that there are not many institutes which provide education in this field. CIPET JEE 2012 is responsible for developing ATR which means Academic, Technology Support & Research. The institute was set up in the year 1968 and since then it spread its reach across the nation with its 15 campuses.
CIPET JEE 2012 Important Dates:

Undergraduate Degree Programmes:
(i) B.E. / B.Tech. in Plastics Engineering / Technology

Maximum age : 21 years
Entry Qualification : H.Sc / 10+2 (Academic stream) with Maths, Physics & Chemistry.
* Courses offered at Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai and Lucknow.
* For Admission to Under Graduate programmes (B.E. / B.Tech.), please apply through respective affiliating University.
(ii) B.E. / B.Tech. in Manufacturing Engineering / Technology
Course code : B.E. / B.Tech. (ME / MT)*
Duration : 4 years
Maximum age : 21 years
Entry Qualification : H.Sc/10+2 (Academic stream) with Maths, Physics & Chemistry.

How to Apply:
Information Brochure and Application form can be obtained from any of CIPET Centres against payment of Rs. 100/- for general candidates and Rs.25/- for SC/ST candidates in cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of “CIPET” A/c No. 10565622390 payable at Chennai and the form can also be downloaded from our website. Candidates belong to North - Eastern states can get the application forms and apply on free of cost by producing their residential proof / appropriate support documents.
Selection Procedure:
Selection for all courses is as below.
CIPET Programmes - based on academic record and performance in the Joint Entrance Examination.
For PG Programmes - selection through respective affiliating University norms / through CIPET JEE.
For UG Programmes - selection through respective affiliating University as per their norms. (For admission into UG Programmes, please contact the respective University).
Admission Regulations:
Selection for admission to M.Tech. / M.Sc. Programmes will be as per the prescribed eligibility norms of the respective affiliating universities. Only limited seats in M.Tech. / M.Sc. will be filled through JEE at selected CIPET centres as per affiliating University norms.
i. For all other Post Graduate Diploma, Post Diploma & Diploma courses, selection will be based on academic and the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, which is to be conducted on 8th July 2012.
ii. CIPET reserves a quota for SC/ST, OBC(NCL) candidates and physically challenged (handicapped) candidates as per GOI norms. Tuition Fee waiver scheme is available as per AICTE norms.
iii. Age limit shall be as on 31st July 2012. Over-aged candidates will not be considered and hence need not apply.
iv. In the case of applicants belonging to SC/ST category & North Eastern Region, age limit is relaxable by five years for all the categories of courses in the case of Diploma / Post Diploma / Post Graduate Diploma Programmes.
v. Limited Stipend is awarded to meritorious students of Diploma / Post Diploma / Post Graduate Diploma courses based on merit-cum-means.
vi. In the case of PGD-PPT course, 2 years degree course (10+2+2) will not be considered and hence need not apply.
vii. Candidate appearing for entry qualification examination can also apply. (Necessary documents to be submitted on or before JEE). Their selection and admission is subject to eligibility for higher studies on successful passing of the entry qualifications.
viii. Limited hostel accommodation is available. Allotment of hostel accommodation is on need basis and availability. However CIPET facilitates all the admitted students in getting accommodation by hiring.
ix. No request for change of centre allotted for admission will be entertained during the course of study.
x. The provisional selection will be cancelled for the candidate not accepting the allotment of admission within the stipulated time indicated in the call letter and the wait list will be operated to fill the vacancies.
CIPET JEE 2012 Application Form:
Duly filled downloaded application form to be sent to the Manager (Training), CIPET Head Office, Guindy, Chennai - 600 032. along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- for General candidates & Rs. 25/- for SC/ST candidates, in favour of “CIPET” payable at Chennai.
Candidates belong to North Eastern states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura) can apply / submit the application form on "Free of Cost" basis alongwith Residential proof.
CIPET JEE Exam Pattern: CIPET Joint Entrance Examination for admission to all courses will consist of only one paper.
Duration: 2 hours in total
Syllabus: At the level of entry point qualification also includes general knowledge.
No. of Questions: 100 multiple - choice objective type.
