Under Graduate Admission - 2014

Admissions to B.Tech courses in Delhi Technological University are done on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). 85% of the seats offered at DTU for the B.E. programme are reserved for the Delhi region candidates passing from Schools / Colleges / Institute located within the NCT of Delhi. The remaining 15% seats are acoounted for by the students from the Outside Delhi region.

B.Tech Admission Procedure:

Delhi Technological University will hold online counselling for admission to 1st year B.Tech. (Full- time) strictly based on All India Rank in AIEEE - 2011.

i. COUNSELLING FEE DEPOSIT TILL 15TH JUNE 2011
ii. ONLINE REGISTRATION AND CHOICE FILLING FROM 23RD TO 29TH JUNE 2011

Counselling Fee: To participate in online counselling, every candidate, irrespective of his/her category, will have to deposit a nonrefundable counselling fee of Rs.1000/- (in cash only) in any branch of State Bank of India

Fee deposit challan can be downloaded from http://www.dtuadmissions.nic.in. Only those candidates will be able to participate who have deposited the counselling fee through the above challan. Counselling fee should be deposited upto 15th June 2011 at the State Bank of India. No other mode of payment will be accepted.

Online Registration: Having paid the counselling fee, the candidate shall log on to http://www.dtuadmissions.nic.in where the registration form shall be displayed on the screen with the following parameters mandatory for successful registration i.e., AIEEE Roll No., AIEEE All India Rank, Candidate Name and Date of Birth.

If all the above four parameters have correctly been entered and found true, then a new registration screen will appear and Candidate may register himself/herself.

Candidate shall be required to fill in basic details, which shall be used for filling of choicesof branches and allotment of seat using the candidate's "User ID" which is his/her AIEEE Roll No. and "Password" as generated by the candidate.

Aftersuccessful registration, he/she will get a confirmation message on the same page. In case the confirmation message is not displayed the candidate has to re-register himself/herself.

It is in the interest of Candidates to remember their Password and keep it highly confidential, to avoid misuse by another candidate, for which DTU shall not be responsible.

Candidate has to take the print out of the registration form and get attested from the Principal, School/College last attended/Gazetted Officer. It has to be submitted at the time of admission.

FILLING OF CHOICES:

(a) After successful login, candidate's homepage is opened and following options aredisplayed:

Registration Details:Registration Detail is important for seat allotment and should be filled very carefully.

Edit Registration:Any mistake can be corrected in the above through "Edit Registration" option only if the candidate has not locked his choices.

Available Choices:The list of branches available for admission shall be displayed

Fill Choices:The candidate can fill the branches of his/her choice in order of preferences. It is in the interest of the candidate to fill maximum available choices.

Display filled choices:Choices entered by the Candidate will be displayed on different form so that he/she can check the already entered information.

(b) Locked Choices: Candidate can lock the choices by pressing the 'Lock' button, and then candidate has to give his/her password for confirmation.Once the choices are locked, it cannot unlock and hence preferences of the branches cannot be changed.

(c) Candidate has to take the print out of the filled choices after locking the choices and get signed by him/her. It has to be submitted at the time of admission.

(d) Allotment of seat: After the choice filling period is over, all filled choices of all registered candidates will be considered for allotment of seats as per merit (AIEEE All India Rank) and category of the candidate.

Display of the list of Provisionally Selected Candidates: The first list of provisionally selected candidates shall be declared as per schedule given the website. Subsequent list of allotment shall be displayed as per the schedule. The selected candidate can take printout of provisional allotment letter from the website, http://www.dtuadmissions.nic.in. Allotment of seats is purely provisional and is subject to verification of original certificates and payment of institute fee etc, at the time of reporting to DTU.

Candidates are required to report for admission at DTU on the date specified (as per the counseling schedule) along with fee and the documents/testimonials/certificates (for documents detail, please see "Documents required at the time of Admission" link).

If candidate does not report within the specified period, his/her allotted seat shall be cancelled and the candidate shall not have any claim on the seat, whatsoever.

If a candidate refuses to take admission in the allotted branch at the time of admission, he/she will not be considered in next phase of admission. Only admitted candidates will be considered for upgradation of branches. Only one chance for admission will be given to the candidates.

A candidate, who has been admitted to a Branch other than his/her first choice, will automatically be upgraded, as per his/her merit in AIEEE-2011, to a Branch of his/her higher preference as indicated in his/her online application submission. The list of the students with upgraded Branches will be displayed at website i.e. http://www.dtuadmissions.nic.in periodically.

Freezing: In case a candidate desires to continue in the branch allotted to him/her at the time of admission or a subsequent upgradation, other than his/her higher preference indicated in his/her application then he/she must submit, a request in writing to the Chairman, B.Tech. admission Committee on the day of admission/allotment of branch for freezing the same. Similarly a branch once upgraded may also be got freezed on the same day.

Eligibility Conditions for Admission

Educational Qualification

(For Delhi Region Candidates)

A candidate passing any one of the following examination from recognized School/College/Institute located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi only and securing 60 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission to the first semester of Bachelor of Engineering Courses provided he/she passed in each subject separately:

  • Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Educational (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.
  • Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
  • B.Sc. (Gen.) Group “A” Final Examination of the University of Delhi or equivalent examination.
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the University of Delhi with combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and equal weightage to the subsidiary subject or equivalent examination.
  • Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E. by the University of Delhi.
(For Outside Delhi Region Candidates)
A candidate passing anyone of the following examinations from the recognized School/College/Institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi only and securing 60 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission to the First Semester of Bachelor of Engineering Course provided he/she has passed in each subject separately:
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Educational (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.
  • Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
  • B.Sc. (Gen.) Group “A” Final Examination of the University of Delhi or equivalent examination.
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the University of Delhi with combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and equal weightage to the subsidiary subject or equivalent examination.
  • Any other examination recognized as equivalent. to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E. by the University of Delhi.
A candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study either at the 10th Class level or 12th Class level (core or elective).

Age Requirements
  • Applicant must be 17 years of age and maximum 25 years of age on or before the first October of the year in which he/she seeks admission.
  • Relaxation in minimum age upto one year only with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor is permissible (Such Candidate should apply for relaxation only at the time of admission).
  • Candidates who are short in age by more than one year are not eligible for admission.
PG Admission 2012:

M.Tech 2012


The University offers Post Graduate programme both Full Time and Part Time in 9 disciplines. Admission to the Full Time courses is offered through the GATE examination.

Eligibility: For admission to full time course a valid GATE score is essential. The application form and details regarding eligibility for each course are uploaded on the website: www.dce.edu. Separate application forms must be submitted for courses offered by each department. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC category will be as per the approved policy of the Government of Delhi.

How To Apply: The application form can be downloaded from Here and the duly filled application form be submitted in the University along-with a demand draft of Rs. 1,000/- on or before the last date of receipt of completed application form. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “Registrar, Delhi Technological University”, payable at “Delhi”.

Age Requirement: A candidate should have attained the age of 21years before the first day of September in the year in which he/she seeks admission. However, the Vice Chancellor may relax the age limit to a maximum period of one year.

Reservation: Reservation policy for the year 2012-13 would be notified on the website www.dce.edu.

i. 3% seats in post graduate program will be reserved for candidates with physical disability.

These reservation will be implemented department wise in post graduate courses. Candidates seeking admission as detailed in eligibility conditions except relaxation of

5% marks in the minimum eligibility conditions. The 3% reservation may be allocated as follows : 1% for person with low vision or blindness; 1% for hearing impaired;1% for those with locomotor disabilities and or cerebral palsy.

ii. In the M.Tech. Programs one Defence Research & Development Organization sponsored candidate to each Program duly selected through DRDO selection interviews, which are participated in by the respective Heads of Departments, will be accommodated in the list of candidates under sponsored category.

Selection Procedure:

All the applications received will be short listed on the basis of performance in GATE and qualifying examination for Full-time and Part-time Programs respectively. The short listed candidates will be called for interviews as per the following schedule.

i. Interview for part time candidates - 10.00 a.m Monday, 05.06.2012
ii. Interview for full time candidates - 10.00 a.m Tuesday, 06.06.2012

List of eligible candidates for interview & test shall be made available on the University website www.dce.edu on 25.05.2012. No separate call letters will be dispatched.
