Eligibility Criteria for appearing at Entrance Test
i. The candidate should be an Indian National.
ii. Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December 2012
iii. The candidate must have either appeared at Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC / Std. XII) examination of any board in India, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and desirably with Mathematics) or, if the result of the exam. has been declared, he / she must have passed the same examination with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% for the Reserve Category candidates).
Eligibility Criteria for Admission:
Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December 2012
The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC / Std. XII) examination of any board in India or abroad, with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/or Mathematics taken together (40% for the backward class candidates) (and desirably with Mathematics) OR equivalent qualification from abroad.
Bachelors' degree In life sciences, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Agri Biotechnology, MBBS, B.Vsc.
AIBTCET 2012 Application Form:
i. Download the application form.
ii. Fill up the information in own handwriting.
iii. Paste photographs (taken from the same negative). Do not staple the Photographs.
iv. Forward the Application Form (duly filled in) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1,600/- (Rupees one thousand six hundred only) drawn on any nationalized Bank, in favour of 'The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth'

vi. On Receipt of Application Form along with a DD of requisite amount, the Information Brochure will be dispatched at your given address. The Information Brochure Serial Number shall be your Application Form Number for further correspondence, if any.
A candidate, desirous of appearing at the AIBTCET-12, is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit the same to the Registrar of the University, on or before the scheduled date.
Application may be submitted personally or mailed (by registered post/speed post/courier) to The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune – 411018. The application shall be accompanied by a Demand Draft of the amount of the test fee (i.e. Rs. 1000/- or Rs. 1500/- as the case may be), drawn on any nationalized bank and payable at Pune. Those who submit the application in person, may pay the test fee either by a DD or in cash. The candidate is advised to obtain and maintain proof of demand draft and dispatch of the application form. This may be useful for obtaining duplicate admit card, if required
The University shall not be responsible for any delay or loss of the application / admit card / or any other communication in transit. Such a delay shall not be condoned.
Issue of Admit Cards:
The Admit Card for AIBTCET - 12 shall be dispatched by courier or by post to the candidate under certificate of posting. The admit card will indicate the seat number, the examination centre (with its address) allotted to the candidate.
The candidate shall not mutilate the admit card or change any entry made therein after it has been authenticated by the University authorities.
In case the admit card is not received upto a week before the test, the candidate shall contact the Controller of Examinations of the University or the Centre-in-Charge at the respective test centres, on the day of the AIBTCET-12, for collecting a duplicate admit card. In such a situation, the candidate shall bring two copies of his/her photograph, taken from the same negative as the photograph affixed to the application form, with him / her and proof of submission / mailing of application form / Xerox copy of demand draft / receipt of payment of cash. In case no proof is submitted, duplicate admit card may not be issued.
All India Common Entrance Test - 2012 (AIBTCET-12)
Mode of the Test: The test consists of one question paper of 200 marks. The question paper consists of two hundred objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 50 each on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The duration of the test is 3 hours.
The Vidyapeeth shall prepare a merit list of the candidates who have appeared for AIBTCET-12, in accordance with the total marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology taken together. The candidates shall be called for admission as per their ranking in this list.
Names of only those candidates who have obtained 50 percent or more marks (100 or more out of 200) in AIBTCET- 12 shall be included in the merit list. This list will be displayed on the notice board and on the Vidyapeeth website: www.dpu.edu.in. However, only the first one thousand candidates (1000) in the merit list will be called for counseling and on-the-spot admission session. There shall be no verification of marks or reassessment of papers of AIBTCET - 12.
Tie-breaker In case more than one candidate have obtained equal marks at the AIBTCET-12, the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding inter-se merit:
First level : A candidate with higher marks in Biology at the AIBTCET-12 shall be preferred. If the tie still persists,
Second level : A candidate with higher marks in Chemistry at the AIBTCET-12 shall be preferred. If the tie still persists,
Third level : A candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at the HSC (or equivalent) examination shall be preferred. If the tie still persists,
Fourth level : A candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at SSC examination shall be preferred.
The admission sessions will be conducted at the office of the Vidyapeeth, as per the schedule. Failure to report for admission on the scheduled date and time shall result in instantaneous cancellation of the claim of the candidate to the seat. It shall be the candidate's responsibility to ascertain the result of AIBTCET -12.
Only the candidate and one of his/her parents/guardian shall be allowed into the admission hall. The candidates shall be called in, in the order of their ranking in the merit list.
The candidate should note that appearance at AIBTCET-12 and inclusion of name in the merit list do not necessarily mean that he/she shall get admission to the course. His/her admission to the course shall depend upon the availability of seat at the time of his/her turn for admission.
At the time of reporting for the admission, the candidate shall produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) and an affidavit as indicated on the University website. If the candidate is admitted to the course, these documents shall be retained by the University till he/she completes the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of these documents, his/her claim for a seat shall instantaneously stand forfeited.
The selected candidate shall be required to pay the entire amount of tuition fee and such other fees as decided by the Vidyapeeth, on the day of spot admission itself, through a bank draft drawn on a nationalized bank favouring the Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, payable at Pune. In case the candidate fails to pay the entire amount of fees, he / she shall lose his / her claim for admission to that seat.
If any candidate finds it impossible to be physically present for the admission session due to unavoidable circumstances, he/she may authorize any other responsible individual to represent him/her for admission session. This representative must carry with him/her a letter of authorisation, in the format available on the University website, as well as all the documents required. If the candidate or his/her representative fails to report for the admission session on the date and time mentioned in the schedule of admission, his/her claim for admission to the course shall stand forfeited.
Admissions made at the admission sessions are provisional, subject to verification of eligibility by the Vidyapeeth.
A waiting list for admission to the course shall be prepared and notified on the Vidyapeeth notice board. The candidate, who desires to have his/her name included in the waiting list, shall submit the application for inclusion. If no such application, in writing, is submitted during the interview, the candidate's name shall not be included in the waiting list.
The seat that becomes vacant during the admission session shall be kept vacant. The waiting list of the course shall become operative from 1st August onwards and the candidate(s) in the waiting list shall be offered seats as per availability of seat(s). The waiting list shall be operative till all the vacant seat(s) are filled in or till 30th September (cut-off date), whichever is earlier.
