IIMS Admission 2012
The selection for admission to the 3 - year course leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Sciences) Degree at T.S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, 4-year Marine Engineering Degree at Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata and 3-year Polyvalent B.Sc. (Maritime Sciences) Degree at Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai, for the session commencing in August will be made through the Joint Entrance Examination, to be conducted by IITs on 08.04.2012.
IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE): April 08, 2012 (Sunday)
IIT JEE Declaration of Results: May 18, 2012 (Friday)
There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above training institutes and only those candidates who have qualified in IIT-JEE Examination will be called for counselling in the month of July/August.
All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE and a separate application form issued by Indian Institute of Maritime Studies.
IIMS Important Dates:

iv. Close of Offline OMR Application Forms sale: December 5, 2011
v. Last date of receipt completed IIT-JEE 2012 Application Form: December 15, 2011
vi. Date of Beginning of sale of application forms by IIMS & Syndicate Bank: February, 2012
IIMS Eligibility:
Candidate should have passed in IIT JEE 2012 to be eligible for this course.
Candidates should have English, physics, chemistry and mathematics as subjects in XIIth standard to apply for admission into engineering colleges.
The age of the applicants should not be more than 25 years
Applicants belonging to SC/ ST (reserved category) are given 5 years of relaxation in age
Applicants should have a normal vision of 6 /6 in order to apply for Marine sciences courses
IIMS 2012 Application Form:
Applicants can purchase the admission form by making payment of Rs. 300/- from designated branches of Syndicate Bank. Candidates can send in the completely filled application along with DD and other documents at the address mentioned in the prospectus.
Seats: There are 156 seats available in T.S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, 208 in MERI, Kolkata and 39 in MERI, Mumbai. Out of these 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals in T.S. Chanakya, MERI, Kolkata and MERI, Mumbai for which the details can be directly obtained from Indian Institute of Maritime Studies.
Reservation of Seats: 15% are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates & 18% are reserved for OBC candidates belonging to non-creamy layer.
Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed (10 + 2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
Age Limits: The candidates must have been born on or after 1.10.1985. For SC/ST, candidates must have been born on or after 01.10.1980.
