The School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, established by Government of India, has its own popularity in the fields of architecture, town planning and human settlement development for the past fifty years. It offers Bachelor Degree in Planning & Architecture and Postgraduate Program in many areas of Planning & Architecture. It has announced its admission process.
Candidates must have obtained more than 50 percent marks in aggregate with Mathematics as the subject of examination at 10+2 level exam or its equivalent for admission to the first year of the Bachelor's degree programs in Architecture and Planning.
Admission Procedure for Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning Programmes:
Admission to Bachelor’s programmes in Architecture and Planning in the School for the session 2012-2013 will be made through the All Indian Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2012) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), strictly on merit, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and reservation of seats as per the approved norms of the School. The dates of examination and counseling procedures would be available on the website www.ccb.nic.in. The school for past few years has been one of the counselling centres for UG admission courses.
Reservation of Seats: Reservations will be applicable as per rules of the Govt. of India.
A limited number of scholarships, each of the value of Rs.8,000 per month will be awarded on merit, and subject to terms and conditions prescribed by Government of India, AICTE, and the School from time to time for non-sponsored category of students admitted to master's programmes with valid GATE or CEED score(only for ID students), or who have qualified in the UGC (NET) JRF Examination.
Candidates can collect the application form with prospectus from the branches of UCO Bank in Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Nagpur, Kolkata and Mumbai on payment of Rs.750 and through post by sending a request with the demand draft of any nationalized bank & other documents.
How to Apply:
- Bachelor of Architecture (5 years): 74 seats
- Bachelor of Planning (4 years): 20 seats
Since the admission to SPA’s undergraduate courses is through AIEEE candidates need to appear for AIEEE architecture exam. Candidates can choose SPA among their preferred choices in AIEEE counselling for admission in SPA.
Pattern of AIEEE Architecture exam:
Entrance examination will be of 3 hours having three parts: Mathematics, Aptitude test and Drawing test. While Mathematics and Aptitude test will have objective questions, drawing test will have questions to check the drawing aptitude of a student.
