TNAU PG 2013 Important Dates:
i. Last date for receipt of Application: 29.06.2013, 5.00 P.M. (Masters)
ii. Last date for receipt of Application: 22.07.2013, 5.00 P.M. (Doctoral)
iii. Tentative date of Entrance Test for Masters Programs: 24.07.2013
iv. Tentative date of Entrance Test for Ph.D. Programs: 05.08.2013
v. Date of commencement of classes for Monsoon Semester: 16.08.2013
System of Education: The pattern of instruction is semester course credit system with external evaluation and thesis research is essential part of all post graduate programs.
Minimum Residential Requirement:
Master’s Degree - Two years (Four semesters)
Doctoral Degree - Three years (Six semesters)
Eligibility for Master/Doctoral Programs:
Masters Program : Graduates who have completed four years degree program in any one of the State Agricultural Universities / Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities alone are eligible to apply for masters.
Doctoral Programs : Candidates who have studied four years degree program and two years masters program in any one of the State Agricultural Universities / Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities alone are eligible to apply for doctoral programs.
Minimum OGPA/Aggregate Requirement:
Masters / Doctoral Programs: A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10.00 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply for various Masters and Ph.D. programs. However, for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient for all programs.
Application Procedure and Fee:
A candidate can apply for only two subjects in Master/ Doctoral programs. Separate fee is to be sent for each subject.
All applicants should download the applications at TNAU website www.tnau.ac.in After filling up, the applications be sent along with the following documents to Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore 641 003, Tamil Nadu, India by 5.00 p.m. on or before 29.06.13 for Masters and 22.07.13 for Ph.D. programs.
i. A demand draft (DD) for Rs.1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST) per subject drawn in favour of Dean (SPGS), TNAU, Coimbatore payable at State Bank of India, TNAU Branch, Coimbatore - 3.
ii. True copies of Tamil Nadu Community certificate issued by the Revenue authorities as per G.O.(Ms).No.85 BC, MB & MW Department, Dated 29.7.2008, G.O.(Ms).No.96 BC, MB & MW Department (BCC), dated 08.09.2008, G.O.(Ms).No.97 BC, MB & MW Department (BCC), Dated 11.9.2008, G.O.(Ms).No.37 BC, MB & MW Department (BCC), Dated 21.5.2009 and G.O.(Ms).No. 98 BC, MB&MW Department (BCC), Dated 5.11.2009. SC/ST candidates from other states should also enclose true copy of the community certificate issued by competent authority.
iii. A true copy of provisional / degree certificate showing the Class or OGPA obtained in the qualifying degree
iv. True copies of mark list / transcript card showing details of courses undergone and marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
v. True copies of the conduct certificates from head of the institution and two professors where the candidate last studied
vi. Self addressed & sufficiently stamped acknowledgement card (Post card)
vii. True copies of certificates showing the details of experience/service, if any.
viii. Reprints of original research publications in refereed journals
ix. True copies of certificates for extracurricular activities/awards received
Note: All true copies must be attested by competent authority and have to be enclosed along with application. Certificates of extra curricular activities, reprints of publications and proof for awards and medals received after the submission of application will not be considered.
Completed application should be properly stitched with all enclosures
Applications received after the prescribed date will not be considered on any account. The University will not take any responsibility for postal delays(or) non receipt of intimations sent by e-mail

Method of Selection:
For all Masters / Doctoral programs: Candidates shall be required to be present on the specified date for a written test to be conducted at TNAU, Coimbatore at their own expenses. Request for change in the date/time will not be entertained.
The exact date of written test will be hosted in the University website and intimated to the candidate through email.
Written test with objective type questions from concerned subject will be of one hour duration. Candidates applied for two subjects should write the examination for both subjects continuously for two hours.
Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (including Arunthathiars)/Scheduled Tribes/ Most Backward/Backward Class Muslim/ Backward Classes as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Admission Procedure: The candidate will be informed of their selection for admission to PG programs by email only. List of selected candidates will be hosted in the website also. University will not hold any responsibility for failure in delivery of mails. They should pay the prescribed fees on or before the date specified by the Dean, School of Post graduate Studies, failing which their names will be deleted from the selection list and the resultant vacancies will be filled up from the wait list.
