NLIU Admission B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Program 2012
National Law Institute University (NLIU) admits candidates to its 5 year BA LLB program through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). National Law Institute University was established by the Rastriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1997 by Madhya Pradesh Legislature. NLIU is a well recognised institute for its law education. NLIU is one of the 12 national law universities in India.
National Law Institute University is located in the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. It has 82 seats in its 5 year BA LLB program out of which 50% seats are reserved for Mandhya Pradesh candidates and rest are opened to All India candidates.
Admission B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Program: 5 Year Integrated Course
We follow interdisciplinary teaching of law. Case method, clinical legal education, moot court competition, client counseling skills, language and computer skills form an integral part of learning at the B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) level. We also offer seminar courses in various emerging areas to cultivate the research and presentation skills in the students. We are in the process of reform of legal education. Efforts are being made to make the curriculum more suitable to the needs, challenges and opportunities of legal education in twenty first century.
Eligibility for Admission:
(a) No candidate shall be eligible for admission unless he/she has passed the class-12th examination in the 10+2 scheme or its equivalent in Science, Arts, Commerce or any other discipline and has secured in the aggregate not less than 50% of the total marks in the grand total of all papers except additional papers, in the said examination. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC,ST or OBC category, the minimum percentage of marks for eligibility shall be 45% of the total marks in the grand total of all papers except additional papers at the class – 12th examination, and
(b) The candidates seeking admission must not have attained 20 years of age as on July 1, 2010. Relaxation of Two years is permitted for candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories.
Intake and Reservation:
The NLIU admits 82 students for its B.A.LL.B (Hons.) program. Out of these 82 seats, 41 seats are for All India candidates and remaining 41 seats are for the residents of Madhya Pradesh to be filled up through Common Law Admission Test.
