Candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved First Year of Two Years Full Time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM Course for the Year 2012-13 are hereby informed that the Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted as per the schedule given below.

It is further notified that, as informed by the AICTE, the admissions to First Year of Two Years Full Time AICTE Approved MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM Courses from the Academic Year 2013-14 will be carried out through CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) merit list only conducted by AICTE.

Eligibility for appearing CET:
The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and physically handicap belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Appeared** for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree to be awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and physically handicap belonging to Maharashtra State only).
*Aggregate marks means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in subjects based on which the class declaration is made in the particular University from which the candidate is passing the qualifying examination. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. In case the percentage of marks in aggregate comes in fraction then percentage of marks in aggregate shall be rounded up e.g. 44.50 - 44.99% shall be rounded to 45% and 44.01-44.49 % shall be rounded to 44% marks.
**Candidates appeared for final year examination fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2012. if the candidate is failed and applied for revaluation of the result in such cases the admission to such candidate will be given on provisional basis subject to the condition that he/she will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2012. Undertaking from such candidates shall be taken for forfeiting the right of admission and fees paid in case of not securing required percentage of marks in qualifying examination. In case, the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before 25th September 2012, then admission offered to such candidate automatically cancelled and the fees (tuition, development and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year 2012-13 will be forfeited
Note: Any issues related with eligibility shall be decided by the Competent Authority.
a) Maharashtra State Seats:
Each Maharashtra State candidate who has appeared in the MAHMBA/ MMS-CET 2012 and GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of Maharashtra State will be assigned a State level Merit Number, a Home University area Merit number, Category merit no. (as applicable) etc.
b) All India Seats: Each
All India candidate who has appeared in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 and appeared for GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of Maharashtra State OR appeared in CAT2011 or CMAT 2012 (Conducted by AICTE) Examination and appeared for the GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of Maharashtra State will be assigned a State level merit number.
c) J & K Migrant Seats:
Each J & K Migrant candidate who has appeared in the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 and appeared for GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of Maharashtra State will be assigned a State level J&K Merit Number.
Relative merit in case of equal marks:
In the case of candidates securing equal final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 Score, (i.e. CET+GD+PI+WE+PAR) their relative merit will be determined on the basis of the following order of preference:
a) When the final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 scores are the same, the candidate with higher marks in the CET written examination will get preference.
b) When the final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 score and also the marks in the CET written examination are the same, the candidate with higher marks in PI will get preference.
c) When the final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 score, the marks in CET written examination and also the marks in PI are the same, the candidate with higher marks in GD will get preference.
d) When the final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 score, the marks in CET written examination, the marks in PI and also the marks in GD are the same, the candidate with higher percentage of marks scored in the aggregate at the HSC (Std. XII) or its equivalent examination will get preference.
e) When the final MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 score, the marks in CET written examination, the marks in PI, the marks in GD and also the percentage of marks in the HSC Exam or its equivalent examination are the same, the candidate with higher percentage of the marks scored in the aggregate at the SSC (Std. X) or its equivalent examination will get preference.
Note: The seats will be allotted to the candidates strictly on the basis of their merit number in the respective merit list (i.e. University Area / State level / OMS candidates / J&K migrant candidates etc.), options given by the candidate and the number of seats available for that candidate during the process of allotment.
a) A candidate desirous of seeking admission through CAP should fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in Rule 2.0
b) The candidate’s name should figure in the concerned merit list (Respective University level / State level General Merit list / All India merit list/J & K migrant merit list) prepared for admission.
Candidates who have secured admission for the first year of MBA / MMS / PGDBM / PGDM are required to pay the fees:
i. At the Government/Aided/University Departments as approved by the State Government or the respective University.
ii. At the respective private institute as approved by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Bandra (East), Mumbai.
There is no age limit for admission to first year of two year Post Graduate course in Management viz. MBA / MMS / PGDBM / PGDM.
Procedure for CET, GD, PI and Centralized Admission Process (CAP):
Candidates seeking admission to MBA/MMS, PGDM and PGDBM courses are required to appear for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 and the GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority. However, for admission to PGDM courses will be carried out as per the regulations of the AICTE.
The various stages of MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012, GD & PI and Centralized Admission Process (CAP) are as follows:
Stage I – Sale of Information Brochure:
Information Brochure along with “MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 Kit” for the aspiring candidates will be available at the identified branches of Axis Bank Ltd in selected cities in India as mentioned in the Notification and website, against the payment of the application processing fees.
It is mandatory for the candidates to procure the information brochure along with “MAHMBA/MMS-CET 2012 Kit” from the identified branches of Axis Bank Ltd.
The application form processing fees is Rs. 1150/- for Maharashtra State (General Category) candidates, All India and J&K Migrant candidates whereas Rs. 950/- for reserved category candidates & Physically Handicapped Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State (i.e. Candidates having relevant backward class Caste Certificate and other applicable certificates issued by Maharashtra State authorities). This fee is to be paid in cash at the identified branches of Axis Bank Ltd during the contact hours of the respective branches of Axis Bank Ltd offices. This fee is non refundable and non transferable under any circumstances.
Maharashtra and J & K Migrant candidates aspiring to apply for All India seats are not required to pay extra fee. Such candidates are required to submit only one application form as Maharashtra and J&K Migrant Candidate and will be required to select the choice as interested to apply for All India seat.
All India candidates who have appeared for CAT 2011 or CMAT 2012 (Conducted by AICTE) and wish to appear only for the GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority are also required to procure the Information Brochure.
Candidates will receive Receipt of Payment of fees from centers titled as “candidate’s copy”. Candidates are required to produce the receipt of the payment of fees at the time of confirmation of submission of CAP application form for admission (during stage-VIII of CAP procedure) at the ARC and therefore the candidates are instructed to carefully preserve the receipts of the payment for further use.
All the information printed in the brochure will also be available on the website for browsing, downloading and printing.
MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 Kit contains the Application ID, Password, important instructions for the submission of online application form. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before submitting the application form.
The Maharashtra State and J&K Migrant candidates can apply for all India Seats on the same Application ID, if he/she has appeared for CAT 2011 or CMAT 2012 (Conducted by AICTE) examination. Maharashtra candidates will be given only one allotment which will be highest choice either through All India Seats or Maharashtra State Seats.
Stage II – Registration for CET:
The candidate is required to read the information brochure carefully.
Aspiring candidates are required to register their name online on the website for “MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2012" for which the Application ID and password supplied in the Kit shall be required.
The instructions to the candidates are provided in the Kit.
The candidate is required to submit online application through Internet at home, cybercafé or at the designated facilitation center.
Candidates are required to pay Rs.50/- in cash separately as facilitation charges at the facilitation center if the facilities are used.
Candidates will have to fill up the personal details, qualification details and options for CET Centers.
The candidate is required to paste the recent Photo and put signature on the space provided on the sheet. This sheet is provided in the kit. The sheet is to be scanned and uploaded on the website as per given guidelines.
The candidate has to verify the correctness of the information filled. In case of any correction, the candidate can do it online before confirmation.
The candidate has to confirm the Registration as per guidelines given in Kit.
Candidate will not be able to change the information after the confirmation of registration.
The Online system shall generate the Hall Ticket for CET bearing Name of candidate, the Photo and Signature of the Candidate, CET Center & Venue and such other details.
The Hall Ticket is an important document.The candidate should produce the Hall Ticket at the time of examination, GD&PI,Document verification at ARC, reporting for admission and for approval of admitted candidates list. Any changes in the Hall Ticket shall not be entertained at the later stage. Providing or uploading false information shall be treated as fraudulent activity and the candidature/admission shall be cancelled. The candidate shall be liable for criminal prosecution
All India candidates who wish to apply for admission through CAP only on the basis of score of CAT 2011 or CMAT 2012 (Conducted by AICTE) against All India seats will have to compulsorily register for CET. However the Hall Ticket for CET shall not be issued to such candidates. Such candidates can take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
Stage - III: Appearing for the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012:
Candidates are also required to read the instructions given in the Hall Ticket carefully.
Candidates will appear for MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2012 written examination at the designated venue as mentioned in the Hall Ticket.
Candidate shall preserve the Hall Ticket signed by the supervisor.
Refer Annexure - V for the details of CET, GD, PI, WE and PAR and distribution of total marks, Annexure - VIII for CET and Annexure-IX for sample answer sheet.
Stage - IV: Declaration of MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2012 results:
The provisional results of CET will be declared on website of DTE.
Stage - V: Registration for the GD & PI:
The eligible candidate should register for the GD & PI through candidate’s login.
The candidate has to select the available dates for GD & PI through candidate’s login as per schedule.
The candidate will be allotted venue and date for GD & PI based on the availability and as per the address of the candidate. The choice to select the city of GD & PI will not be made available to the candidates.
OMS candidates will be able to appear for GD & PI at Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune only based on their nearest travel.
The date and venue once allotted will not be changed under any circumstances.
The system shall generate “GD & PI Call Letter”. The candidate has to take the printout and appear for the GD & PI as per the schedule and venue mentioned in call letter.
Candidates are required to pay Rs.50/- in cash separately as facilitation charges at the facilitation center if the facilities are used.
Stage - VI: Appearing for the GD & PI:
Candidates should appear for both GD & PI at the designated venue, date & time as mentioned in the Call Letter.
The candidate remaining absent for GD or PI or both shall be disqualified and such candidates will not be eligible to participate in CAP and score card to such candidates will not be issued.
Stage - VII: Submission of Work Experience certificate:
The candidate should strictly send proforma-G given in the brochure in Original along with following documents (Attested Xerox Copies) for getting the work experience marks.

5. Relieving letter(s)( if applicable)

If the Candidate fails to submit proforma-G or fails to submit proforma-G in required format or fails to submit supporting documents or fails to submit within scheduled time then Work Experience marks will not be given to such candidates.
The delay due to post office will not be considered in any case. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to see that the proforma-G and supporting documents of work experience are submitted within scheduled time.
The acknowledgement of the receipt of the documents and the Marks allotted for Work Experience will be available to the candidate through candidate’s login.
Stages (VIII- XIV) of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP)
Stage VIII - Confirmation of “Application Form for Admission” at ARC
IMPORTANT: Failure to confirm the online application form at the ARCs will make candidate’s claim for the admission through CAP to MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM courses as NULL & VOID and candidate’s name will not appear in the Merit List(s).
Stage- IX: Display of Merit list and issue of score card.
Stage-X: Submission and confirmation of online option form for CAP Round I and II General Instructions
Stage-XI: Display of Allotment, Rules of Reporting to the “Respective Institutes” and confirmation of the admission of CAP ROUND-I.
Stage-XII: Submission and Confirmation of online option form for CAP Round-II
Stage-XIII: Display of Allotment, Rules of Reporting to the “Respective Institutes” and confirmation of the admission of CAP ROUND-II.
Stage-XIV: CAP Round III- Counseling round of Admission
1. All MS & All India seats under purview of Competent Authority except the seats, which are filled in Round-I and Round-II.
2. All vacant All India seats will be merged to MS General seats.
3. All vacant seats in respective categories such as Backward, PH, HU, OHU etc. will be considered as State Level General seats.
All Maharashtra State Candidates, whose names have appeared in the list of eligible candidates for CAP Round-III, may appear for this Counseling Round of Admission.
