NIT MCA Admission 2014-15
The NIMCET is NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission in to their MCA programme. The admission to the MCA Programme in to NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal for the year 2013-14 is be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2013 only.
Candidates should apply for NIMCET-2013 through on-line only. Candidates must follow instructions strictly as given in the website http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in/. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified. On-line submission of application at website may be made by accessing the website http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in/.
After successful filling of online form, electronically submitted pages of application will be generated for each and every candidate bearing his/her entire information as filled by him/her and a unique application number will be generated which candidate can use in future correspondence.
Candidates are required to take hard copy of the electronically submitted application after successful submission of data. Candidates must keep a photocopy of the hard copy of the electronically submitted application for use wherever and whenever required. Candidates should pay the fee Rs.1600/- for Open/OBC category and Rs.800/- for SC/ST category candidates.
The fee is to be remitted through demand draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of NIMCET-2013 payable at Warangal. All the candidates are advised to write name, address, unique application number generated and printed on hard-copy of the application form on reverse side of the demand draft. Please ensure before posting the hard-copy of the electronically submitted application that all the enclosures specified in check-list are enclosed.
Hard copy of the electronically submitted application form with demand draft and other enclosures should reach the Secretary, NIMCET-2013, National Institute of Technology, Warangal-506004, Andhra Pradesh by speed post/registered post/by hand on or before 13th April, 2013. Even after the successful submission of on-line application within due date, if the hard-copy of application does not reach the Secretary, NIMCET-2013 on or before 13th April, 2013 or reaches without the requisite fee, application form will be treated as cancelled. Information regarding receipt of applications will be put on the website http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in/.
NIMCET 2013 Admit Card:
Admit cards will not be posted. Eligible candidates have to download their own admit cards. In case the admit card is not available for downloading, the candidates should write/contact the Secretary, NIMCET-2013 between 7th May, 2013 to 26th May, 2013 giving details of the candidate’s application number and proof remittance of fee.
Candidate must preserve the admit card till the admission process is over. Request for issue of duplicate admit card will not be entertained after the examination in any case. Admit card number should be quoted henceforth in future correspondence.

Indian Nationals securing@ at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in
i. BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time
ii. B E / B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2013.
Candidates who are appearing for final year/semester of BSc / BSc(Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum 3 years or BE/BTech in the academic year 2012-13 are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2013. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the head of institution where the candidate has studied) that he/she is appearing for the examinations during the academic year 2012-13 and can submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2013 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th September, 2013, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs. NIMCET-2013 will not reserve a seat to a candidate due to any reason claimed for not fulfilling the eligibility criteria including the delay in publishing the results by the concerned University/institute.
Students who have completed/completing degree BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.
The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any. The aggregate of all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2013 for deciding eligibility.

This is tentative list of test centers. If enough number of candidates do not opt for a particular centre that centre will be cancelled and then center chosen as second choice will be allotted automatically.
NIMCET 2013 Test Pattern:
i. NIMCET-2013 test will be conducted with only one question paper containing 120 multiple choice questions covering the following subjects.
1. Mathematics - 50 questions
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning - 40 questions
3. Computer Awareness - 10 questions
4. General English - 20 questions
ii. Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark.
iii. The candidates are advised not to attempt such questions if they are not sure of the correct answer.
iv. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if a question is unanswered.
v. More than one answer indicated against a question will be negatively marked.
vi. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheet using black or blue ink ball point pen only.
Set Theory: Concepts of sets-Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.
Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola.
Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima; Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.
Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.
Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.
II. Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning
The questions in this section will cover logical situation and questions based on the facts given in the passage.
III. Computer Awareness
Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
IV. General English
Questions in this section will be designed to test the candidates’ general understanding of the English language. There will be questions on the following topics: Comprehension, vocabulary, Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of verbs, prepositions and articles), word power, synonyms and antonyms, meaning of words and phrases, technical writing.
NIMCET 2013 application form is common for appearing for Entrance Test, counseling and admission to MCA at all the eleven participating NITs offering MCA programme. Participating Institutes are NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal.
Candidates are not required to apply separately to any NIT for admission to MCA programme.
The admission to MCA programme in all the 11 participating NITs will be based on NIMCET-2013 rank and the choice of institute filled by the candidates. Details of the counseling process is given below and changes if any, shall be notified on http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in website from time to time. The candidates are advised to check this website regularly for updates.
Candidates declared qualified in NIMCET-2013 will be allowed to fill the choices of Institutes in which they wish to take admission into MCA programme.
Candidates are required to use their login and password to fill the choices of institutes through online from their place of convenience between 17-06-2013 and 24-06-2013. Then they are required to lock their choices before 5 pm on 24th June 2013. However, choices filled by all candidates will be locked by 5 pm on 24-6-2013. After locking, students can not access their locked choices. Seat allotments will be made on the basis of his/her rank and institute choices locked.
WEB ENABLED ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM:
Eligible candidates are required to fill-in web enabled on-line application form from any place of their convenience. Candidates are required to register themselves in the website http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in by giving their username and password. Candidates are not permitted to create multiple Id’s.
Username must be a string containing at least six alphanumeric characters with first two and last two characters as alphabets. No special characters are allowed.
Password: Password must be a string containing at least six alphanumeric characters. No special characters are allowed.

b) They are also required to take hard copy (a print out) of the generated application form, enclose all relevant documents (Please enclose photocopy of both sides of mark sheets) and send it by speed post / registered post to the following address along with copies of mark-sheets and pass-certificates of SSC/10th class, 12th class and Bachelor’s Degree along with original Demand draft (for Rs. 1,600/- for open /OBC category and Rs.800/- for SC/ST category) drawn in favor of “NIMCET-2013” payable at any bank listed in section 5.0 of this brochure.
