NOTICE OF JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATION (MCA) COURSE, 2012 (JECA – 2012)
Admission to MCA Course offered by the different Government / Private Engineering Colleges, Universities and Institutions of the State of West Bengal during the academic session 2012-2013 is open to candidates who are Indian citizens and who have either passed or are appearing in the Bachelor’s degree final examination in any discipline from any recognized university with Mathematics and / or Statistics as one of the Subjects in 10+2+3 pattern subject to the condition that they have to appear and qualify in the Written Test to be conducted by the “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.” The written test will be held on SUNDAY, the 24th June, 2012 from 12 noon to 2-45 p.m. at specified centres.
This admission to MCA course will be governed by the reservation policy of the State Government. There is no restriction regarding age of the candidates.
JECA 2012 Application Form:
Candidate intending to appear in the said Joint Entrance Examination – 2012 shall have to apply in a prescribed form which will be available from 12.04.2012 to 05.05.2012 from the Branches of AXIS BANK (list enclosed) on all working days including Saturday (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) on payment of Rs. 400.00 (Rupees four hundred) only in CASH. Application form once sold cannot be returned or replaced.
Application forms may also be obtained from the Office of the BOARD through Postal request only by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- (four hundred) and Rs.100/- (one hundred) for postal and other charges (Total Rs.500/-) to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah so as to reach West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, AQ-13/1, Sector – V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 091 on or before 23.04.2012.
JECA 2012 Submission:
The duly filled in application form has to be sent by Speed Post only so as to reach the Office of the Board by 10.05.2012. There is no provision for selling or receiving (by hand) of Application Form from the Board’s Office.

Further details will be available in the Information booklet to be supplied along with the application form.
Syllabi of each paper on the basis of which questions will be said are stated in the Information Brochure.

JECA 2012 Scheme of Examination: The JECA examination is divided into two parts;
1. Part A: Aptitude Test (100 marks for 1 hour)
2. Part B: Mathematics (100 marks for 1½ hours)
