Admission to Undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) courses - 2013
The candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS course – 2013 in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU must register themselves by applying directly to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences in the prescribed application form downloaded from the BHU & IMS website (www.bhu.ac.in/www.imsbhu.nic.in) along with the prescribed fee. However, the admission will be done strictly on the basis of their merit in the NEET – UG 2013 examination. The fee for registration for UG Courses will be Rs.1000/- for General and OBC and Rs.600/- for SC & ST candidates.
All candidates eligible for NEET – UG 2013 are eligible for registering themselves irrespective of their State of domicile.
The downloaded application form along with the draft in favour of “Director, IMS, BHU” payable at Varanasi must reach the office of the IMS Directorate latest by 15th April 2013 by registered/speed post only.
The applications received after the last date on any account including postal delays will not be registered.
The candidates who have registered for admission to MBBS/BDS course 2013 must submit their score card of NEET - UG 2013 within 15 days after declaration of t heir results to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Tentative counseling for admission of UG courses (MBBS/BDS) will be held on 4th July 2013. Individual letters to the successful candidates based on their rank in the NEET - UG exam. 2013 will be sent by Registered Post/Speed Post giving the exact date of counseling.
The candidates are advised to check the BHU/IMS websites from time to time for up-dates.
Qualifications - Passed Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% for General-PC candidates and 40% marks for OBC#/SC/ST and respective PC candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

M.B.B.S.(84 seats): General - 42; OBC# – 23; SC – 13 and ST – 6;
BDS (38 seats): General – 19; OBC# – 10; SC – 6 and ST – 3;
BAMS (50 seats): General – 25; OBC# – 13; SC – 8 and ST – 4;
B.Pharm. (33 seats): General – 17; OBC# – 9; SC – 5 and ST – 2.
Three percent seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates on horizontal basis in the above courses.

AGE: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2012 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1996 and on or before 31st December, 1987 need not apply).

(b) BY POST : From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1600/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 1100 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size must also accompany it. The requisition for PMT Application Form should be superscribed “Request for Application Form for PMT-2012, BHU”. Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is 27.02.2012. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted. NOTE: (a) M.O./I.P.O./Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi-221005 can be obtained by POST only and not in person upto 27.02.2012.
