COMEDK PGET 2015 Date: 01st February, 2015 (Sunday)
The Entrance Test for Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental streams in respect of Member Institutions for effecting admissions in the academic year 2014 would be held on the 02 February 2014, the Sunday (*).
Candidates are advised to visit the COMEDK website (www.comedk.org) for updates. The start date for issue of Online Application would be in the first week of December as in previous years.
COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and a separate entrance test for Dental Post Graduate courses called 'COMEDK PGET-2012', for candidates seeking admission to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental studies. The entrance test is being conducted for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Post Graduate courses in COMEDK Member Institutions subject to the eligibility as prescribed by MCI/DCI. The COMEDK PGET-2014 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2014-2015.
The COMEDK PGET-2014 will be conducted only at centers in Bangalore on Sunday the 02 February 2014.

Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institution recognized by MCI / DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/2012 at the latest.
Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate Medical / Dental course in any of the Medical / Dental institutions in the country, must possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
In the case of an Indian national with the recognized degree from Foreign University, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary/permanent registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies. Temporary/Permanent registration to such candidates shall be subject to the condition that the degree is duly registered in the country where the degree is obtained and is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India also.
As per the Existing Post Graduate Regulation of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2012) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.
As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2012) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.
Only Candidates who are due to complete the internship on or before 30/04/2012 are eligible.
Rank list / Rank Card will be prepared only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India Regulations.
Test Admission Ticket:
Candidates appearing for COMEDK PGET-2012 will be issued a Test Admission Ticket (TAT) for identification. Candidates are required to bring the TAT and the original (Candidate Copy) Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof duly attested by the Head of the Institution where he/she has studied last or Gazetted officer not below the rank of Tahsildar of the area in which he/she is a resident, which is similar to the copy submitted (COMEDK Copy) along with the application form. This is mandatory.
The Test Admission Ticket gives the details of test centre assigned to the candidate. The candidates are assigned a test centre decided by the COMEDK authority during the application processing itself, and no requests for change in test centre would be considered.
The Test Admission Tickets would be dispatched to the candidates by speed post at the address mentioned in their application form after the applications are processed. However all Test Admission Ticket will be dispatched by 21/01/2012.
Candidates who do not receive the Test Admission Ticket must check the COMEDK website in their Applicant Login on or before 06/02/2012, and then contact COMEDK over Email/Fax to have the details of the Test Admission Ticket.
COMEDK is not responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the candidate in the Application Form. Effort to collect Duplicate Test Admission Ticket (TAT) from the Test Centre is the sole responsibility of the candidate.
Please re check the website for any changes / updates before leaving your hometown for the test.
Change of address, if any, during the process of COMEDK PGET-2012 must be intimated through speed post / courier / Email / Fax to COMEDK office to reach not later than 13/01/2012, the responsibility for the same rests solely with the applicants.
Centralized Counseling (Single window):
Detailed instructions relating to centralized counseling will be put on the website at a later date.
Counseling will be tentatively held in the month of April 2012
In this regard the COMEDK website is updated regularly. COMEDK suggests all candidates to visit it frequently for relevant information.
There will be one separate test for PG Medical and one separate test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ).
The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 02:30 PM and end at 05:30 PM.
i. Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.
ii. Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
iii. There will be no negative marking.
iv. However, in the event of a tie in score the principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answer) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties.
v. No mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) for any question.
The scope of the syllabi for the Post Graduate Medical / Dental entrance test is based on the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. syllabus as prescribed by MCI / DCI respectively.
The COMEDK entrance test, COMEDK PGET-2012, will be held in Bangalore city only
. The test will be held on the mentioned time and date in all the test centers. The details of all the test centers will be published online. The centre address will be mentioned in the Test Admission Ticket, which would be dispatched to the candidates prior to the examination as per the calendar of events.
Answer Keys and Test Scores of all the candidates will be published on the website. Clarifications, if any, should be sought within the dates stipulated. Subsequently the final result along with the Merit List will be published which will be binding on all candidates and no further claim would be entertained thereafter.
The test results will be published in two stages:
i. Test Score Publication
ii. Final Merit / Rank List Publication
The Final Merit / Rank List will be sent to all the regulatory authorities. Individual rank card will be sent to eligible candidate/s only. The Rank list will also be made available at the COMEDK website.
i. Answer Keys to the COMEDK PGET-2012 will be published on the website only late in the evening, on 12/02/2012.
ii. Clarifications to the answer keys, if any, should be sought between 13/02/2012 to 16/02/2012 (Communications received after 16/02/2012 will not be entertained).
iii. Test scores of COMEDK PGET-2012 will be published on 22/02/2012.
iv. Clarifications to the Test Scores, if any, should be sought between 23/02/2012 to 24/02/2012. (Communications received after 24/02/2012 will not be entertained).
v. The Final Rank list will be published on 29/02/2012.
Final Merit / Rank List:
The final merit / rank list is generated based on the performance in the entrance test and the same will be published on 29/02/2012.
Ties in the test scores, if any, will be resolved based on the following, in the order specified:
i. The principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers).
ii. Number of additional attempts during the course of study, i.e., M.B.B.S. / B.D.S.
iii. Total aggregate percentage scored in the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. exams
iv. The age of the candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate.
In case of tie existing after exhausting in all of the above situations, merit will be based on random selection.
COMEDK Member Institutions will not accept any other qualification of entrance examination conducted by any other agencies to determine the inter-se merit.
