The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admissions to the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” COMEDK.
COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a Common Entrance Test for the academic year 2014-2015, for candidates aspiring to pursue Under Graduate courses Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges in the State of Karnataka, in member institutions of the Consortium (Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges).

COMEDK UGET 2013 Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. As per the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. Further must secure not less than 50% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET-2013).
SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka
should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. As per the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. Further must secure not less than 40% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET-2013).
He/she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December (31/12/2013) of the year of admission to the MBBS/BDS course.
Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination recognized by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology as one of the optional subjects. English as one of the language of study is compulsory. All candidates who have taken the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance,as there is no minimum mark fixed for the entrance test.

Kindly note: Diploma Candidates are not eligible to take COMEDK UGET-2013 entrance test.
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka). Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 for both general merit and category candidates.
COMEDK will not be conducting any Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course) as per existing rules.
Candidates seeking B. Arch seats should submit separate application form along with a DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of COMEDK. Online application form will be issued from 31/05/2013.
COMEDK Under-Graduate Entrance Test 2013:
COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical/Dental and Engineering Under-Graduate courses called COMEDK UGET-2013, for candidates seeking admission to Under Graduate courses in MBBS, BDS and B.E. Physics & Chemistry are common papers for Medical/Dental & Engineering courses while Biology is a separate paper for Medical/Dental, similarly Mathematics is a separate paper for Engineering course. Those who desire to seek Medical/Dental & Engineering admissions will have to take the test for all the subjects namely (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology).
The entrance test is being conducted for merit determination for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Under-Graduate courses in COMEDK Member Institutions. The COMEDK UGET-2013 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2013-2014.
The COMEDK UGET-2013 will be conducted across the State of Karnataka on Sunday the 12th May 2013.
Note: Candidates please note the Demand Draft being collected along with the online application form is towards meeting the expenses for conduct of the test, counseling and other incidental expenses.
Test Admission Ticket (TAT):

Candidates appearing for COMEDK UGET-2013 will be issued a Test Admission Ticket (TAT)
for identification. Candidates are required to bring the Test Admission Ticket and the original (Candidate Copy) Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof duly attested by the Head of the Institution last studied or Gazetted officer not below the rank of Tahsildar of the area in which he/she is a resident, which is similar to the copy submitted (COMEDK Copy) along with the application form. This is mandatory.
The Test Admission Ticket gives the details of test centre assigned to the candidate. The candidates are assigned a test centre decided by the COMEDK authority during the application processing itself, and no requests for change in Test centre would be considered.
The Test Admission Tickets would be dispatched to the candidates by speed post at the address mentioned in their application form after the applications are processed. However all Test Admission Ticket will be dispatched by 24/04/2013.
Candidates who do not receive the Test Admission Ticket must check the COMEDK web site on or before 30/04/2013, and then contact COMEDK office or send email to have the details of the Test Admission Ticket.
COMEDK is not responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the candidate in the Application Form. However, provision has been made for issue of a Duplicate TAT at the Test Centre for such of the candidates who might not have received the TAT sent by speed post. Effort to collect Duplicate Test Admission Ticket (TAT) from the Test Centre is the sole responsibility of the candidate.
Candidates must not mutilate the TAT or change any entry made therein.
Candidates are advised to preserve their TAT in good condition.
Please recheck the website for any changes / updates before leaving your hometown for the test.
Change of address, if any, during the process of COMEDK UGET-2013 must be intimated through post / courier / Email / Fax and so as to reach COMEDK office not later than 10/04/2013, the responsibility for the same rests solely with the applicants.
Centralized Counseling (Single window) will be organised for selection of seats in MBBS, BDS, B.E and B.Arch courses. There will be two rounds of counseling.
COMEDK UGET-2013 will have the following papers:
i. Physics and Chemistry combined paper
Compulsory for all the candidates appearing for COMEDK UGET-2013.
Compulsory for the candidates aspiring for B.E.
Compulsory for the candidates aspiring for MBBS/BDS.
iv. A single test combining Physics and Chemistry subjects will be held on Sunday the 12/05/2013 in the Forenoon Session (10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon). There will be a total of 120 questions: 60 questions in Physics and 60 questions in Chemistry. The test duration for combined paper is 120 minutes, and is compulsory for all candidates seeking admissions to M.B.B.S., BDS and B.E courses.
v. Mathematics and Biology tests will be held on the same day 12/05/2013 in the Afternoon Session separately, with each subject having 60 questions with duration of 60 minutes. Candidates are free to choose any one or both the subjects. Mathematics Test will be conducted from (2.00 PM to 3.00 PM) followed by Biology test from (3.30 PM to 4.30 PM).
vi. Candidates are required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet (Optical Mark Reader).
vii. Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
viii. No Mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question.
ix. There will be no negative marking.
x. However, in the event of a tie in the score the principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties.
The COMEDK Entrance Test, COMEDK UGET-2013, will be held in different cities/towns across the State of Karnataka. The test will be held on the mentioned time and date in all the test centres. The details of all the test centres will be published online. The centre address will be mentioned in the TAT, which would be dispatched to the candidates prior to the examination as per the calendar of events.
COMEDK UGET 2013 Results:
Answer Keys and Test scores of all the candidates will be published on the website. Clarifications, if any, should be sought within the dates stipulated. Subsequently the final result along with the Merit List will be published which will be binding on all candidates and no further claim would be entertained thereafter.
The test results will be published in two stages:
i. Test Score Publication
ii. Final Merit / Rank List Publication
The Final Merit / Rank List will be sent to the regulatory authorities. Individual rank card will be sent to eligible candidates only.
Final Merit/Rank List:
The final merit / rank list is generated based on the scores in the entrance test and the same will be published on 11/06/2013.
Ties in the test scores, if any, will be resolved based on the following order specified:
For Medical/Dental candidates:
i. The principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answers) in 1) Biology, 2) Chemistry and 3) Physics
ii. Aggregate marks in Chemistry and Biology in the Entrance Test
iii. Marks in Biology in the Entrance Test
iv. Age of the Candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate.
For Engineering candidates:
i. The principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answers) in 1) Physics, 2) Mathematics and 3) Chemistry
ii. Aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics in the Entrance Test
iii. Marks in Mathematics in the Entrance Test
iv. Age of the Candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate.
COMEDK Member Institutions will not accept any other qualification of entrance examination conducted by any other agencies to determine the inter-se merit.
