The University shall be conducting KLE University All India Entrance Test – 2012 (KLEU-AIET-2012) for admission to various Under-Graduate courses viz. MBBS, BDS, BPT, BAMS, B.Sc. Nursing, Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing, & B. Pharm., and Post-Graduate courses viz. MPT, M.D. Ayurveda, M.Sc. Nursing & M. Pharm. in the respective constituent units of the University viz. J.N. Medical College, V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences, Institute of Physiotherapy, Sri. B. M. K. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum, and Colleges of Pharmacy at Belgaum, Hubli and Bangalore for the academic year 2012-13.
The KLEU-AIET-2012 will be conducted between 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, the 5th May 2012 at seventeen centers across the country viz. Belgaum, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune, Jaipur, Panjim, Indore, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Vijaywada, Kottayam, Mumbai, and Chennai.
Printout of the application form along with DD for Rs. 1,500/- payable at Belgaum drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Registrar KLE University, Belgaum. has to be sent by post or submitted in person to The Registrar's office, KLE University, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum - 590010, So as to reach on or before Monday, 23rd April 2012 by 5.00 pm.

Note:
1. 15% seats are reserved under management category including seats for NRI/and foreign students. 2.5% of seats are reserved for children of teaching faculty of KLE University (KTC category) and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for students hailing from educationally backward Belgaum Revenue Division consisting of districts of Belgaum, Dharwad, Karwar, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Haveri and Gadag (BRD category).
2. Eligibility for admission will be as per Medical/Dental Council of India regulations.
Application / Admission Procedure:
The process involves the following four stages:
i. Online submission of application form for KLEU-AIET-2012 examination on or before Tuesday, 17th April 2012.
ii. Sending by post, a hard copy of submitted/printed application form along with DD, photograph and other enclosures on or before Monday, 23rd April 2012.
iii. Appearing for Test on Saturday, 5th May 2012 from 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM for UG Courses and 02.00PM to 4.00PM for PG Courses.
iv. Appearing for counseling at the KLE University at Belgaum (Dates of counseling will be intimated later on the University website).
Instructions to the Candidates:
Students will be admitted to various Courses in the constituent colleges of KLE University viz. J. N. Medical College Belgaum and KLE V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences Belgaum, KLE Colleges of Pharmacy located at Belgaum, Hubli and Bangalore, KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belgaum, KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum and KLE Shri BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Belgaum, on the basis of ‘interse’ merit earned by them in the KLEU- All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET– 2012).
i. 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI/Foreign/Management.
ii. 2.5% of the seats are reserved for children of teaching faculty of KLE University (KTC category).
iii. 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for students hailing from educationally backward Belgaum Revenue division (BRD category) consisting of Districts of Belgaum, Dharwad, Karwar, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Haveri and Gadag.
iv. Students claiming seats under BRD category should satisfy the following criteria:
a) The Student’s Parents should be permanent residents of one of the seven districts (Recent Parents Domicile certificate to be enclosed)
b) The student’s should have studied for at least ten years including PUC II in one of seven districts (Study certificate to be enclosed).
v. Those claiming seats in the above two categories must specifically indicate the same in the Application form.
vi. Their admission will be on ‘Interse’ merit of KLEU-AIET-2012.
KLEU AIET 2012 Exam Centers: KLEU-AIET-2012 will be conducted on Saturday, 5th May 2012 from 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM for UG Courses and 02.00 PM to 4.00 PM for PG Courses at the examination centers in the following Cities.

KLEU AIET 2012 Exam Pattern: The KLEU-AIET - 2012 will consist of one question paper. It will be set in English medium & will contain 200 multiple choice objective type questions, 50 each on Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology followed by 10+2 Boards/Universities. These questions will be set in general on the detailed syllabus given on the website. Each correct answer will get one mark. There is no negative marking.
Eligibility for appearing in KLEU-AIET - 2012 & subsequent admission
Common Eligibility Requirements for admission to MBBS/BDS:
Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the relevant eligibility requirements for admission to a course will be considered eligible to appear for the KLEU All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET – 2012) & subsequently for admission to that course.
Age: The candidate shall complete 17 years of age on or before the 31st December 2012.
Qualifications:
For MBBS: As prescribed by the Medical Council of India.
For BDS: As prescribed by the Dental Council of India.
Note:
a. For candidates seeking admission to MBBS course, the candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. i.e. XIIth /PUC II/ 10+2/ HSC / equivalent examination. The candidate should also have scored 50% marks in English language in the qualifying exam.
b. Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e., PUC II/10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for KLEU-AIET-2012, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination.
c. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination (XIIth /PUCII/ 10+2/HSC/ B.Sc.- Degree/ first year of three year degree course as specified by Medical Council of India to be considered as eligibility for appearing in entrance test) earlier than 2010 are not eligible for applying to KLEU-AIET- 2012 for seeking admission to MBBS course.
d. Candidate should have passed qualifying examination from a board recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.
Eligibility for B.Pharm: i) Passed 10+2 exam with Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the mathematics/Computer Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology. Obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects together. ii) Lateral entry in 2nd year B. Pharm for D. Pharm candidates passed from an AICTE approved institution with at least 50% marks. iii) 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for SC/ ST category.
Eligibility for M.Pharm: i) 50% marks obtained in Bachelors in Pharmacy or equivalent degree. ii) 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
Eligibility for B.A.M.S: i) 50% and above aggregate marks in P.C.B in 10+2. ii) Pass in English.
Eligibility for M.D Ayurveda: 50% and above in B.A.M.S from a recognized University.
Eligibility for BPT: i) 40% and above aggregate marks in P.C.B in 10+2. ii) Pass in English. iii.) 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for SC/ ST category.
Eligibility for MPT: 50% and above aggregate marks in BPT from a recognized University.
Eligibility for B.Sc (Nursing): i) 45% and above aggregate marks in PCBE in 10 + 2. ii) Pass in English. iii) 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. iv) Be Physically fit (Certificate to be issued by Registered Medical Practitioner).
Eligibility for P.C. B.Sc (N): i) Passed in G.N.M. (Diploma programme). ii) To be a Registered Nurse). iii) Be Physically fit (Certificate to be issued by Registered Medical Practitioner).
Eligibility for M.Sc (Nursing): i) 55% and above aggregate marks in B.Sc (Nursing) Basic / Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing). ii) Be a registered Nurse. iii) Possess at least one year of experience. iv) Be Physically fit (Certificate to be issued by Registered Medical Practitioner).
Application Procedure:
A candidate desirous of appearing in the KLEU-AIET-2012, is required to complete the prescribed application form & submit the same to the University online on or before the scheduled date. A copy of “online” submitted application form must be printed and sent to the following address along with a processing fee of Rs. 1500/- only by way of DD favouring
Registrar, KLE University, payable at Belgaum, Karnataka along with the documents listed below.
Following documents have to be enclosed along with the application form.
i) Two recent coloured photographs.
ii) Attested photocopies for SSLC/X Std, and Qualifying examination Marks Cards.
iii) Photocopy of Proof of Date of Birth.
iv) Affix Left Thumb impression in the column provided in the downloaded/ printed Application Form.

Instructions for completing the Application Form:
The application form for admission to undergraduate courses KLEU-AIET - 2012 is common for MBBS / BDS / B. Pharm / BPT / B.Sc. (N) / P.C. B.Sc. /BAMS courses. For all Postgraduate courses viz. M.Pharm / MPT / M.Sc. (N) / MD Ayurveda there is a separate common application form. No separate form is prescribed for any particular course or college. The candidates should avoid overwriting, cutting, erasing on the form. Any discrepancies in the statements and /or submission of incomplete form will lead to its rejection/ cancellation of admission.
The application must reach either by hand or by post to the above address on or before 23th April 2012 by 5:00 p.m.
An incomplete application KLEU-AIET-2012 form & an application form which is not accompanied by a demand draft of the prescribed KLEU-AIET-2012 fee of Rs. 1,500/- will not be entertained & processed. This fee should not be sent by money order. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.
Issue of Test Admission Tickets (TAT Cards):
TAT cards can be downloaded by the candidates from the University Website w.e.f. Thursday, 26th April 2012
The TAT Card will indicate the Roll Number & Examination Centre allotted to the candidate with its address.
The candidate must not mutilate this TAT Card or Change any entry, made therein after the university authorities have authenticated it.
In case a candidate does not receive the TAT Card (Hall Ticket) by 2nd May 2012, he/she should contact University office immediately. Arrangements will be made for the issue of duplicate TAT Cards at the ’Help Desk’ established on previous day (i.e 4th May 2012) at respective examination centers. In such a situation, candidate should bring two identical copies of his / her photographs which is affixed to application form along with his / her proof of submission / posting of online printed application form or school/college identity card or photocopy of the submitted application form. In case no proof is submitted duplicate TAT card will not be issued.
Conduct of KLEU-AIET-2012: The examination will be conducted at the different cities in the designated examination centers from 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM for UG Courses and 02.00PM to 4.00PM for PG Courses on 5th May 2012. The candidates must report at the centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of commencement of the test.
Mode of the Test:
For UG Courses the test will have 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of single best answer type on Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology (50 on each of them). For PG Courses the test will have 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) based on the syllabus prescribed by Regulatory Councils for the respective Under- Graduate Courses viz. B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc Nursing, BAMS.
The time allotted will be 180 minutes (3hrs) and 120 minutes (2hrs) for UG and PG Courses respectively. The test will begin at 2.00 pm.
i. Candidates are required to mark their answers in an ICR (Intelligent Character Reader) Answer Sheet.
ii. Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
iii. There is no Negative Marking for wrong answers.
KLE-AIET 2012 Syllabi:
UG Courses: The test paper in Physics, Chemistry, Biology includes questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities. For PG Courses the questions will be from the syllabus as prescribed by Regulatory Councils for the respective Under- Graduate Courses viz. B. Pharm, BPT, B.Sc. Nursing, BAMS.
Counseling: The counseling sessions will be conducted at KLE University, J.N. Medical College Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum -590 010. The dates will be displayed on the University website later. FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELING ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF THE CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO ANY SEAT. It shall be candidate’s responsibility to see the result of KLEU-AIET – 2012 on the University website.
