Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET - 2012)

Punjab Medical Entrance Test – 2012 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in various Government and Private Colleges affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot shall be held on 20-05-2012.

Prospectus containing OMR Application form and other conditions shall be available at the counter in office of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and also at the following branches of Oriental Bank of commerce on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- from 21-03-2012 onwards instead of 16-03-2012 as mentioned in Prospectus of PMET-2012.

Last date for receipt of OMR Application Form for entrance test is 27-04-2012.

The banks shall not supply Prospectus by Post. However, candidates can get the same by post on sending a request to the University along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1050/- drawn on any scheduled bank in favour of Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Payable at Faridkot.

Candidates are advised to ensure deposition of OMR application form by due date/time by hand at BFUHS campus, Faridkot and not take risk of delivery by Post/mail. BFUHS will not be liable for any loss due to postal delay. OMR application forms received after 27-04-12 will not be entertained at all

The University will remain open on all days except Sunday’s and gazetted holidays for sale of Prospectus and receipt of OMR application forms of PMET – 2012.

Reservation of Seats:

85% seats reserved for Punjab students ( Based on PMET 2012 score )
15% seats reserved for other states students ( Based on PMET 2012 score )

Pattern of Examination: The paper will be of 150 minutes duration consisting of 200 multiple choice questions from the following subjects:

Physics: 50 questions
Chemistry: 50 questions
Biology: 100 questions

For every correct answer a candidate will get 4 marks and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted.

Syllabus: The syllabus for the above exam is same as that for the Higher Secondary level in accordance with the Punjab Education Board. The syllabus covers the subject of Physics, Biology, and Chemistry along with English.
