MBBS Admission Notification 2012
It is for general information of all concerned that the Common Entrance Test for admission of 1st year MBBS & 1st year B.Sc Nursing course will be held on 03rd June, 2012 at 2.00 P.M. to 3.30 P.M. in Tripura Medical College & Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, Hapania, West Tripura.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR MBBS COURSE (2012-13):
As per direction of Hon'ble Supreme Court, the Govt. of Tripura (vide Notification number F. 8 (7)-HFW / 2005 /4207-21 dated 10th February, 2012) constituted a Permanent Committee headed by the Hon'ble Justice Mr. A.B. Pal (Retd.) to oversee the fairness & transparency in respect of admission process in MBBS Course in Tripura Medical College & Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital. The said Committee's decisions are as under :-
Distribution of Seats:
i. Out of 100 MBBS seats, 70 (seventy) seats shall be earmarked for the students of Tripura domicile, 15 (fifteen) seats for All India candidates (including those from the state of Tripura) and balance 15 (fifteen) seats shall be offered to Central Pool.
ii. 70 (seventy) seats of Tripura domicile will be selected as per reservation policy of Govt. of Tripura. 15 (fifteen) seats of All India candidates will be selected as per reservation policy of Govt. of India.
iii. In case , no candidates are nominated by Central Govt. against the 15 (fifteen) seats offered to the Central Pool these vacant 15 (fifteen) seats will be filled up from the merit list of students from Tripuira domicile as per reservation policy of Tripura Govt.
MBBS Eligibility Criteria:
i. As per Medical Council of India (MCI) Amendment Notification No. MCI-34 (1)/2010-Med/32962 dt 07.10.2010 a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology taken together in qualifying examination be 40 % instead of 50% as stated above.
ii. A candidate must have attained the age of 17 yrs on 31st July of the year of application. Date of birth as recorded in 10th, standard / Madhyamik / school leaving certificate will be considered as authentic.
iii. All admissions are subject to verification of the original certificates / documents produced by the candidates. Regarding the eligibility of any applicant, the decision of the Committee constituted by the Medical College Authority as per the MCI guidelines shall be final.
iv. All admissions are subject to medical fitness of the candidate. Admission will be denied to candidates if found medically unfit.
Method of Selection:
Under supervision of the Permanent Committee, ENTRANCE TEST will be conducted with the eligible applicants .On the basis of Entrance Test result separate merit list for 70 students of Tripura domicile and 15 All India seats will be prepared. The rank of the candidate will be published. The marks obtained by the candidate will not be published. There shall be provision for adequate wait listed eligible candidates of Tripura domicile to fill up 15 seats in case Govt. of India does not nominate any central pool candidate.
Entrance Test Syllabus: The syllabus for the Entrance Test will be the same as that of class XI & XII under the 10+2 scheme of the State / Central Education Boards. The question papers will be in English language only.
CET 2012 Details:
1. Total marks of the Entrance Test : 100
2. Type of questions : Multiple Choice Questions (Single Response type)
3. Total Questions : 100 (each question carries 1 mark)
4. No negative marking.
5. Time : 90 minutes (one & half hour)
6. Distribution of Questions : (Physics-20, Chemistry-20, Biology/Biotechnology-60)
7. Distribution of marks : (Physics-20, Chemistry-20, Biology/Biotechnology-60)
How to Apply:
Interested candidates can obtain the Information Brochure & Prospectus along with the Application Form attached in directly from Principal's office personally / representative on all working days (11 am to 4 pm) on payment of Rs. 2500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred) only by A/C Payee Demand Draft in favour of “The Society for Tripura Medical College & Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital,” Hapania, West Tripura, payable at Agartala through S.B.I or any other nationalized bank.
The BPL Candidates can get the Information Brochure and the Application Form free of cost on production of authentic certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
The Application Form attached in the Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website of the Tripura Medical College & Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital (www.tmc.nic.in). The downloaded Application Form shall accompany the A/c payee Demand Draft amounting to Rs. 2500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred) only during submission of application.
Please ensure that the Demand Draft bears the code number of the issuing bank. The candidate must write his/her name clearly on the back of the Demand Draft.
The duly filled up Application & Admit Card Form along with the documents to be enclosed should reach the office of the Principal, Tripura Medical College, Hapania, Agartala by Registered Post/Speed Post/In person by the scheduled date and time.
Note:
i. Amount once paid for the Application Form and Prospectus is not refundable.
ii. The Authority shall not be held responsible for any postal delay under any situation.
CET 2012 Important Dates for Admission Process:
i. Availability of Prospectus & Application Form from the Office the Principal and college website: 10 May, 2012
ii. Last date of receipt of complete application Form in the Office of the Principal: 26 May, 2012
iii. Issue of Admit Card from the office of the Principal (to be collected in person): 31 May (10 am) to 02 June (4 pm), 2012
iv. Entrance Test (to be conducted at Agartala Center only): 03 June, 2012 (2 p.m to 3.30 p.m)
v. Publication of Result in College Notice Board & in College website: 06 June, 2012
vi. First Counseling & Admission from 1 Merit List from 10 a.m to 5 p.m: 25, 26, 28, 29 & 30 June, 2012
vii. Second Counseling & Admission from waiting Merit list 10 a.m to 5 p.m: 23 & 24 July, 2012
**All selected candidates must submit their written attendance in time on the scheduled date of Counseling.
Duration of Course: Four and half years plus one year period of Compulsory Residential Rotatory Internship which shall lead to the award of the MBBS degree by the Tripura University (Central) Agartala.
