Assam SLET (North East Region) Subjects
Test:
(i) Medium of Test: Except for the language paper, the medium of the test will be English. The medium of language paper will be the language concerned.
(ii) Subject of Test: At present the test will be held in the subjects mentioned below: (The code number to be used for the subjects is also shown against each)

(iii) Test Centres: It is endeavoured to make atleast one centre in each constituent University of the SLET Commission with a minimum 25 candidates. If the number falls short of this in a centre, then the candidates of that centre will be attached to the nearest centre.

(iv) Change of Test Centres: Application for change of Test centre on plain paper will be received by the SLET Commission office within 30 days of last date of submission of forms. The centre change fees is Rs.300/- per candidate. The application for change of centre must be forwarded by the Co-ordinator of the original centre along with his/her Attendance Slip and Admit Card. No request for change of centre will be accepted by the SLET Commission after the specified date.
(v) Design and syllabi of Test: Presently, the Commission has accepted the syllabi of the NET conducted by the UGC and the CSIR. Syllabus will be provided along with the application form.
(vi) Scheme of Test: The test will comprise of three papers;
Paper I - General aptitude (Objective having choice)
Paper II - Subject concerned (Objective)
Paper III - Subject concerned (Descriptive)
Paper I will be of objective type to assess the teaching aptitude of the candidate.
Paper II will be of objective type based on subject selected by the candidate. Both the papers will be of 100 marks each.
Paper III (Descriptive) This paper carries 200 marks with the following sections
Section I - 2 questions to be answered having 20 marks each 40 Marks
Section II - 3 questions to be answered having 15 marks each 45 Marks
Section III - 9 questions to be answered having 10 marks each 90 Marks
Section IV - 5 questions to be answered having 5 marks each 25 Marks
Total: 200 Marks
(vii) Duration of Test:
(a) Duration of Test (paper-wise)
(b) Time of the Test (paper-wise)
Paper I - One hour 15 minutes From 9 A..M. to 10-15 A.M.
Paper II - One hour 15 minutes From 10-30 A..M. to 11-45 A.M.
Paper III - Two hours 30 minutes From 1 P.M. to 3-30 P.M.
(viii) Publication of Advertisement: All notification will be published in the Employment News, and in a few local News paper and also in SLET Commission’s website :
www.sletne.org.
(ix) Unfairmeans/misconduct: Any candidate resorting to unfairmeans or misconduct is liable to forfeit the right to continue in the Test. (Details are stated in SLET regulation N-01)
Legal dispute: The jurisdiction of court for all legal disputes relating to SET will be subject to Guwahati only. The decision of the Steering Committee will be final in regard to any dispute regarding SET.
