Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarships for Doctoral Studies
The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund offers scholarships for upto 2 years from January 2012 to Indian Nationals and Nationals of other Asian countries for Ph.D studies in India.
Eligibility: Minimum 60% marks in Master’s degree, age below 35 years, full-time Ph.D. scholar, registered in a recognized Indian University, having valid GATE/NET score.
Fields of study: Science & Technology, Religion & Culture, Sociology, Indian History, Economics, Environment and Nehru Studies.
Monthly Stipend: Rs. 12,000/-
Annual Contingency upto Rs. 15,000/-
Application form can be obtained from Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi – 110011 on cash payment of Rs. 100/- be deposited at any branch of state Bank of India SB A/c No. 30666380015 and deposit slip sent with the completed application form. Postal Order/DD also acceptable and be drawn in favour of “Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund”, Payable at New Delhi.
Completed application form should reach the Fund Office latest by 15th June, 2011.
How to apply for a Fellowship:
Applicants may send their particulars in triplicate, under the following headings to Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi 110 001.
1. Bio-data, along with details of original work.
2. Experience in the field of specialization.
3. Project proposed to be undertaken (A synopsis neatly typed in double space in not more than a thousand words)
4. A copy of recent passport size photograph.
5. Undertaking in the enclosed format.
Those in Government service, either in a State or at the Centre, should send their applications through proper channel, with advance copy (in triplicate) to the Fund.
If the Fellowship is not availed of within six months from the date of announcement, the award will be deemed to have been withdrawn.
The Fellowship Scheme is a continuing one and there is no last date for receipt of applications.
